Enterprise Coaching · Ages 12–14

Planting seeds at 12 that become founders at 21

Enterprise coaching that starts earlier

The gap

Most enterprise education in the UK starts at 16. By then, subject choices have already been made and confidence patterns have set in. Build Different works with young people at 12–14, before the window narrows.

Benefits are greater when students participate in consecutive entrepreneurship experiences throughout their studies, beginning at primary school. European Commission, Entrepreneurship Education: A Road to Success, 2015

What happens

A hands-on enterprise experience where young people arrive with an idea and leave with a plan. Every participant is heard, every idea is taken seriously. They walk away with practical tools, structured feedback, and the confidence to take a first step.

Students aged 13–16 who completed enterprise training showed significantly higher entrepreneurial alertness and efficacy than those who did not. Ho, Uy, Kang & Chan, Frontiers in Education, 2018

Measurable impact

Every session is designed around evidence-based outcomes. We measure participant confidence and enterprise mindset before and after, and provide partners with structured reporting that demonstrates real, measurable change.

There is no statistically significant difference between males and females after completing enterprise programmes — 64.9% vs 64.2% feel confident in their abilities to run a business. Young Enterprise Company Programme Impact Report, 2022–23

Built by someone who started on the ground

Forty years in. Still building. The founder's career started where all the best lessons are — on the ground. Retail banking, high street retail operations, supply chains. Then CIO, building technology teams. Then Senior Technology Sales leader across emerging markets. Then fourteen years at a Big 4 firm — not recruited as Partner, but earned it.

Operator who became a strategist. Builder who learned to sell. Now giving back — coaching the next generation of founders, because if you don't understand how things actually work, you have no business telling anyone how to change them.
